The Thrones (the angels, not the tv show!) are the third group in the first rank of angels. They are thought to intercede with God on behalf of mankind. We labeled our Cuban Roast "Thrones," because if we were to send a coffee to God to make Him sit up, take notice and be pleased, this would be it.
We start with a special blend of Arabica beans and dark roast them in a secret recipe. The result is a distinct premium coffee. The dark roast gives it an extra nutty kick while increasing the smoothness. Our own Cuban recipe gives it a bold punch, with a little sweetness and a touch of cocoa tone. Like all our coffees, there is no acid aftertaste.
Dark-roasted Coffee
This is our one dark-roasted coffee. You will find that is has a bit of a nutty or smoky flavor, somewhat like a turkey or ham that has been hickory-smoked. The dark roasting also decreases the caffeine content in the coffee. The overall result is a coffee that lets the natural flavors mix with the “woodiness” of the roasting. These flavors are enhanced by the lowered “buzz” of a coffee with less caffeine.
